Wee, any chance we can come up with stronger protections? I seriously dont know why but we are gettin bombarded with fake admin names and spammers.

Unfortunately there's not much I can do to keep out all these spammers without making the registration process impossible, or painfully inconvenient for real people.

What I have in place seems to have eliminated (or at least cut back on) the automated bot registrations, but that's the best we can hope for. These recent spammers are most likely real people manually registering like anyone else might register. The system is working exactly like it should. People are just asshats and abuse it.

The best I can hope for is that the new version of the phpBB forums is more resistant to bots, and will allow the forum staff and users to more easily deal with people abusing the system as they show up. But before I can implement the new system I need to skin it, and I'm lazy, and busy with non-moonwatyr stuff.

I'll probably just end up paying someone else to implement a forum design for me, saving me from all of the tedious coding that's been putting me off of the process so far.
